October 202317 October 2023 October see's us starting the grain harvest for another year, our 12th overall (Qld/NSW/SA included) and our 8th here in Western Australia. Looking at the weather forecast it is going to be a hot, dry summer and that means a tough years work. The first two days onsite, setting the place up ready to take grain and it has been up to 39 degrees with a very hot, dry wind from the North. Delightful! 31 October 2023 This harvest has been rather different, to say the least. Low rainfall throughout the year and no finishing rains means a smaller crop, and so we are not going to fill the site to the brim like last year. As the month has progressed we have had very little receivals and the 70,000 tonnes predicted is looking rather hopeful, and the weather, well, it has been different too! ...
Mark Twain once said "...years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do that by the things you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - and so we will. |
